How we check facts
Every number on FindCareer comes from a page you can open yourself. Here is how we work.
Where the figures come from
- Entry requirements, exams and licences: the body that sets them. For nurses that is BCCNM, for trades SkilledTradesBC, for teachers the BC Ministry of Education, for drivers ICBC, and so on. The link is on the step.
- Tuition: the school's own fees page or EducationPlannerBC, opened and copied by hand. We round to the nearest $10 under $1,000 and the nearest $100 above.
- Wages: WorkBC's Labour Market Outlook. When WorkBC's job group is wider than the career, the page says so.
- Program length and campuses: the school's program page.
What the labels mean
- Facts checked on {date}: the day every source on that page was last re-opened.
- Not published on the school page: we looked and the school does not print a figure. Ask the school.
- Tuition not yet verified: we have not yet opened the page. It is on our list.
- Estimate; fees change every year: exactly that. Confirm with the school before you decide.
How often
Career pages are re-checked at least twice a year and after any rule change we hear about. Tuition is re-checked each spring when schools publish new fees.
Spotted a mistake?
Tell us on the report page. We check it against the source and fix it within a week. If we were wrong, the page shows the correction date.
What we do not do
- We do not rank schools and we do not sell rankings.
- We do not take money to change a fact. If a school ever pays to be listed as a place to take a course, the listing will say so.
- We do not collect your details. No account, no cookies, no tracking beyond a page count.
