What you need to get in
- Minimum 19 years of age
- Hold a valid, full-privilege BC Class 5 or Class 6 driver licence (or Canadian equivalent)
- Clean driving abstract with fewer than 4 penalty points in the last 2 years
- No driving suspensions or prohibitions within the past 3 years
- Valid full-privilege BC Class 5 or equivalent driver licence

How to apply
- Study the ICBC Driving Commercial Vehicles manual
- Pass the commercial knowledge test at any ICBC driver licensing office ($15 fee)
- Complete and submit a Driver Medical Examination Report (DMER) to RoadSafetyBC
- Enrol in commercial driver training with an ICBC-licensed driving school
