Entry Requirements & Sponsor Employment
Obtain employment with an approved landscaping sponsor or enroll in foundation training
Register Apprenticeship with SkilledTradesBC
Register apprenticeship agreement in SkilledTradesBC portal with employer sponsor
Levels 1 to 3 Technical Training (KPU / PHC)
Attend 6 weeks of classroom and field training per year across Levels 1, 2, and 3
Level 4 Training & 4,920 Workplace Hours
Complete Level 4 school block and fulfill all 4,920 on-the-job training hours
Interprovincial Red Seal Examination
Score 70% or higher on the Red Seal Landscape Horticulturist national examination

What the job is like

You construct stone retaining walls and patios, install irrigation systems, plant trees and shrubs, and maintain green spaces.
Use proper lifting techniques with heavy materials and wear protective gear around power saws and trenchers.
