What a day looks like

You fabricate metal ducting in sheet metal shops and install ventilation, heating, and exhaust systems on construction sites.

Watch out for

Wear cut-resistant gloves and sleeves to protect against sharp metal edges and use fall protection when installing overhead ducting.

Where it can lead

You can advance to sheet metal shop foreperson or onsite field superintendent.

You can also become an HVAC estimator or start your own ventilation contracting business.
