Program Overview

The province pays up to $3,500, once in your life, for a short course on its approved list at one of 24 public colleges and universities. It covers tuition, fees and materials, not living costs.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Who qualifies

  • You live in BC.
  • You are 19 or older.
  • The course is on the official EducationPlannerBC list.
  • You have not used up the $3,500 before.

What it pays

  • Up to $3,500 in your lifetime.
  • Tuition, mandatory fees and course materials.
  • Not childcare, travel or living costs.
  • Paid to the school, not to you.
  • What you do not use stays available for a later course.

APPLICATION PROCESS

How to apply

    Set up a BC Services Card account.

    Pick a course on the EducationPlannerBC list.

  3. 3

    Register with the college and tell them you are using the grant.

  4. 4

    Apply in the province's grant portal; the college confirms your enrolment.

  • This year's grant is for courses starting 1 September 2026 to 26 February 2027. Funding is limited, so apply as soon as you register.
