Program Overview
WorkBC centres, funded by the province and Ottawa, help unemployed and underemployed BC residents. A case manager builds an employment plan with you. If training is part of the plan, WorkBC can pay the tuition, and sometimes books and living costs. Approval is case by case.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Who qualifies
- You live in BC and can legally work in Canada.
- You are unemployed, or working part time or below your skills.
- The training leads to a job in your plan.
COVERAGE & EXPENSES
What it pays
- Tuition up to $7,500.
- Books and supplies.
- Sometimes living, travel or childcare support during training.
- Paid to the training provider.
