⏱ 1 School Year- General BC secondary school curriculum and coursework at the Grade 11 level.

⏱ 1 School Year- General high school graduation (BC Dogwood Diploma) or equivalent mature student status.

What you need to get in
- Formal conditional offer of employment and appointment by an approved BC municipal police department
- Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status, minimum 19 years of age
- Minimum 30 post-secondary academic credits
- Passed Peace Officer Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) in under 4 minutes 15 seconds
- Passed comprehensive polygraph, background investigation, and psychological screening

How to apply
- Recruitment conducted exclusively through sponsoring municipal departments (e.g., Vancouver Police, Victoria Police)
- Sponsoring department enrols recruit constables into an upcoming Police Academy cohort
- Recruits attend as full-time salaried employees of their hiring police department

- Block I (13 weeks at JIBC): Criminal law, arrest procedures, firearms, crisis de-escalation, and driving
- Block II (13 weeks): Supervised operational patrol in home city paired with a designated field training officer
- Block III (10 weeks at JIBC): Advanced tactical skills, complex investigations, and court testimony simulations
