  • Minimum 16 years of age (18 for registration)
  • Current Emergency First Aid or Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED
  • Completion of BCRPA Fitness Theory and Weight Training modules (or college equivalent)

  • Register directly with Douglas College, Langara College, or a BCRPA-approved course provider
  • Select weekday cohort or accelerated weekend workshop schedule
  • Pay modular course tuition and download course training manual
  • Complete required pre-reading in exercise physiology and health screening

4–6 Months
  • 36 to 50 hours of classroom instruction and gym floor practical labs
  • Client health risk appraisal (PAR-Q+) and cardiovascular/strength fitness testing
  • Resistance exercise biomechanics, free weight spotting, and postural correction
  • Periodization programming for hypertrophy, athletic conditioning, and fat loss
  • Client behavioral psychology, coaching communication, and fitness business scope
