What a day looks like

You run computer diagnostics, inspect mechanical faults, and repair engines, brakes, transmissions, and suspension on cars and light trucks.

Watch out for

Use insulated safety gear when servicing high-voltage electric vehicle batteries and wear eye protection around hazardous automotive fluids.

Where it can lead

You can advance to master diagnostic technician or shop foreperson solving complex vehicle electrical issues.

You can also step into dealership service management or open your own independent auto repair shop.
