⏱ 1 School Year- High school graduation or mature student status (19+)
- English Studies 12. Requirement varies by school (Capilano University, Douglas College, Langara College, and 2 others). Strictest requirement: C.

What you need to get in
- Clear Criminal Record Check under the BC Criminal Records Review Act
- Documented 40 hours of supervised volunteer or work experience in a licensed child care facility
- Up-to-date immunizations and current emergency child care first aid certification
- Minimum 40 hours of documented volunteer or paid work in a licensed childcare centre with children under 5
- Two structured professional references assessing suitability for early childhood education

- Submit official secondary transcripts and reference letters from your 40-hour volunteer supervisor
- Complete provincial criminal record review clearance prior to program commencement

- Child development principles from birth through age eight including cognitive, physical, and social milestones
- Positive guidance strategies, emotional regulation support, and trauma-informed care practices
- Play-based early learning curriculum design, emergent inquiry planning, and inclusive education
- 300+ hours of faculty-supervised practicum placements in licensed infant/toddler, preschool, and 3–5 centres
